The list deciphered

This is the list we were given yesterday of some of the great new novels (and one poetry collection) being written by Canadians now. Links to the Toronto Public Library, but they are likely available anywhere.
  1.  Emily St John Mandel, Station Eleven
  2.  Michael Crummey, Under the Keel
  3.  Lisa Moore, Caught
  4.  Kathryn Kuitenbrouwer, All the Broken Things
  5.  Sean Michaels, Us Conductors
  6.  Miriam Toews, All My Puny Sorrows
  7.  Alix Hawley, All True Not a Lie in it
  8.  Anakana Schofield, Martin John
  9.  Madeleine Thien, Do Not Say We Have Nothing
  10.  Katherena Vermette, The Break
  11.  Heather O'Neill, The Lonely Hearts Hotel
  12.  David Chariandy, Brother
Enough to keep anyone busy for a while! I have read #9; it was excellent. And I mean to read several more!

  1. The only one I've read is #1 and it was also excellent!
